Hiking in the Round Valley Regional Preserve was super awesome. We started early on this hike as it was forecasted to be 85 F and it was a very good decision. This place has a big parking lot and it also has restrooms. The hike was super awesome with lots of trees on the trail.
Sunny spots, shady spots, challenging trail. Cows were on the trail a couple times, so that was kind of funny. We just kept walking and they got out of the way. Pretty flowers, really can't catch the beauty on a camera. Toilets are at the entrance. A place by the creek near the entrance that would be good for a picnic.
This is one of my favorite hiking spots. There's a number of trails in this area but I do the Miwok Trail and Hardy Canyon Loop (about 4.5 miles). There's a fairly steep hill that is about a mile long that takes some effort, but it's largely downhill from there.
