We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Moss Rock Preserve Sulphur Springs Rd Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Moss Rock Preserve Sulphur Springs Rd Trailhead

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“It's kid and pet friendly with lots of beautiful waterfalls.”

Beautiful park all around. Lots of people taking advantage of the weather. Tried going to frog pond but was very wet so hiked a different trail. The small waterfall was beautiful!

★★★★★ — Rae , Sep 2023

The trail head is located at the southwestern edge of the preserve and offers a parking lot for about 12 cars. A very short trail connects the "trail head" to the blue trail offering several official connections between blue trail and white trail allowing loop hikes from under 1 mile to about 5.

We've hiked all the trails how're at Moss Rock. This trail leads to Boulder Field - about a mile and a half in. This is a really good trail. It's kid and pet friendly with lots of beautiful waterfalls. Highly recommend.

Great, intermediate trails!! Multiple trail options going uphill/downhill. Lots of rocks and roots to look out for. Definitely have to watch your footing but this is a perfect place for curious adventurers!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
