Confirmed from Mount Peter Hawk Watch's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Mount Peter Hawk Watch
“Beautiful open view and there are benches built in if you want to sit.”
This is a little wooden platform built and restored by Eagle Scouts. Very sturdy and pretty high, which all you need I guess. If you park at the lot across from the creamery it's a short walk to here. Beautiful open view and there are benches built in if you want to sit.
Just a few minutes walk from the creamery the path starts . 2 more minutes and you can reach the observatory (which in summer is to be expected to be full of people eating ice cream) It seems well kept and neat.
Trail conditions & character
“A random day at a typical hawk watch is not going to present a hawk in view at any particular moment, or even within the whole day depending on the weather.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
