Confirmed from Mount Sequoyah Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Rustic forest park featuring hiking & mountain-bike trail loops through heavily wooded terrain.
What runners say about Mount Sequoyah Woods
“Overall, it's a wonderful spot to enjoy nature while having the convenience of well-maintained facilities.”
“Beautiful trails with an awesome view at the top!”
“The trails were not super well marked though and went off course multiple times.”
“The paced trail is level so an easy walk to the pavilion.”
Nice trails. Usually not many people out on the trails and the trails can be pretty rough in places. Loop trail with a lot of elevation change if you want it. A little too close to crossover which means there is a lot of traffic noise, but it’s a trail that is actually in town, so not unexpected (or that bothersome).
This is a wonderful outside trail to a massive log wood Pavilion. The paced trail is level so an easy walk to the pavilion. Well worth the easy walk. There are paths into the woods. Lots of birds singing so very enjoyable.
Great trails in the woods! The trails were not super well marked though and went off course multiple times. Wish I lived in the area so I could do more exploring
Nice trail. Lower part is a wide concrete path until you reach the pavilion

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
