Confirmed from Mountain Valley Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Recreational space with a skate ramp and a soccer field as well as baseball courts. Playground features swings and slides, plus there's a splash pad.
What runners say about Mountain Valley Park
“Very nice and groomed facilities with adequate sanitation disposal and clean stocked restrooms, FYI the dugouts are NOT covered so bring extra canopies for shading players👍”
“It has a skate park, baseball diamonds, a swimming pool, decent restrooms, great verandas that provide lots of shade, AND, THEY HOSTED THE AZ CARDS FAN FEST!”
“Great park, the new play equipment is super fun, great for all ages.”
I love this place. I take a shortcut through this park on my way to meetings and it cuts 16 minutes off of my walk. Plus I get to see the ducks in the park.
Great park in Prescott Valley to take my kids to when wanting spend some time with them. They have a great track that runs throughout the park that you can walk or run.
Park is big, plenty of room to run and play. A couple of different playground areas. Plenty of shade and picnic areas. There's the huge splash pad and community pool as well, which we love ! There just not open very often which is a bummer.
This is a nice park to walk your dogs! The softball fields are well kept and the lower soccer field and surrounding area have nice grass areas. The duck ponds at the bottom are fun to look at.

“We’re usually here for soccer practices and games, but there’s so much more to enjoy, from the sports fields and dog park to the playground and skate park.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
