Confirmed from Glassford Summit Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“It's a nice easy hike/walk with places along the way to sit and eat a snack.”

At a relatively fast walking pace you can make it up to the top in under 50 minutes and back down in about 35 minutes. Bonus tip: plan to head up to the top 2 hours before sundown gets you some gorgeous views. Bring plenty of water and good hiking shoes, it's a bit rugged.

Double track trail that has long switchbacks to the top. It's around 2.1 miles up, with a posted elevation gain of 940ft. Trail is rocky, with a considerable amount of loose rocks. I'm not a big fan of double track, or rocky trails, but the panoramic view at the top was worth the hike.

★★★★☆ — Elizabeth , Dec 2024

Prescott Valley did a great job building this trail. The trail is surprisingly smooth considering the jagged volcanic rocks on Glassford Hill. There are picnic tables at every switchback, frequent interpretive signs and distance markers every quarter mile. The trail climbs a gradual 900 feet in 2.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
