Confirmed from MT Tom Via New England Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about MT Tom Via New England Trail
Parking lot for this area then you go across the street and head up to mount time it will be very Rocky from the start definitely moderate to hard height getting up. Once you reach the top you will hike along the edge with many lookout points this is an out and back Trail but can easily turn be turned into a loop
this is the place to park to get to the top of Mount Tom, trail was nice, well kept and it was fairly steep incline, I made it to the star in about half an hour from the parking lot
Very well maintained trails, clear white trail blazes. Stay on the trail and keep an eye out for snakes!

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
