Confirmed from Nan Weston Nature Preserve at Sharon Hollow's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🪧 well-marked 2 mentions

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“If the rest of the trail is as beautiful and peaceful as the one I did, I highly recommend it.”

This is a beautiful nature preserve with scenic, lengthy trails and well-maintained boardwalks throughout. Past Reviews said that it was not marked well, and it appears that this has been corrected. However, there are not trail marker posts, the trail markers are on the trees.

★★★★☆ — Charity , Mar 2020

The Nan Weston Nature Preserve at Sharon Hollow is a pleasant place for a walk in the woods. The trails are well marked and boardwalks cross predictably wet areas. The walk is easy with very little change in elevation. Not all the trails are marked, so be familiar with your overall plan.

Great place to come for a walk on a winter day. Nobody else was around. The views of River Raisin iced up were great. Not as hilly as the Sharon Hills Preserve, but still a decent hike.

★★★★☆ — James , Jan 2022

Beautiful with walking and hiking trails. Walk to the river is beautiful. This, however, is where the trail gets fuzzy. While facing the river... Turn right and you will no longer be on a trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
