Confirmed from Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Pedestrian and Bike Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Pedestrian and Bike Trail
The aluminum surface is great for runners who suffer from shin splits and knee issues. There are no fees for parking or to enter the walkway. Parking is on the Newburgh side north of the westbound lanes. Great Hudson River views year round!
Easy access, close parking. The walkway is steel plate, so not the most comfortable for running. Also, you have to be comfortable with the cars whizzing by from behind you. Not great if you're afraid of heights, obviously.
This was a great place to stop and explore. There were many bikes coming through, so watch your step.If you're walking.
I like this bridge, crossing Hudson River, the first time use my bike for practice in this area. 2 miles one way,
Trail conditions & character
“Weather was nice and although its not a big parking area, Its easy access to the bridge.”
“The fence on the river side is very tall but the view is open from the ground to the top, again, not great if you don't like heights.”
