Confirmed from Newell Open Space's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

We are local, my brother and I and we do quite a bit of hiking in this area but we had never been here before. This place is absolutely beautiful! Please be advised the grass is high and last month there were lots of reports of really bad ticks.

★★★★★ — Christina , Apr 2023

It’s a beautiful breath taking landscape with lots of rolling hills with open spaces. It has groups of trees here and there on the ridge, but majorly of the trails on hill sides are bare where the view to the 360 degrees of scenery are wide opened.

★★★★★ — Jennifer , Dec 2022

This was a great hike! Because of all the rain it was pretty muddy in places, so good shoes/boots are needed. We did the entire loop and it was 5 miles. We saw a lot of cows which was awesome, but cows mean cow pies! So be on the look out! My niece nephew and I had a great time!

★★★★☆ — Corinne , Apr 2023

Excellent hiking area, lots of terrain and beautiful areas to traverse. We got close to the cows grazing and they were very friendly.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
