Confirmed from Nicholas Farm Management Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve offering fishing, hiking, and forest walking trails.
What runners say about Nicholas Farm Management Area
“Always clean and great people!”
“Beautiful big field area with plenty of forest trails and the moosup river just a quick walk from the road.”
“Peaceful place to meditate, watch turtles, canoe, walk in lovely woods.”
Many different aspects to this area. Beside the trestle trail and Carbuncle Pond you also have a portion of the North-South Trail and many other unmarked roads and trails. Today I had a magical afternoon snowshoeing the dirt road off of Nicholas Rd. As you can see in picture, the lot was nicely plowed.
Fun little trail very quick hike but bring your bug spray there's a lot of mosquitoes in the morning
This was an unexpected delight. In the rural sections of Western RI lies some amazing wooded trails and someone brilliant tied them together to create the North South Trail ... this particular area was very beautiful and varied. The dogs loved it too!
Serene and tranquil. Fresh clean air. I often walk the path, but I haven't walked all the way through. I had no idea that it leads right over to Carbunkle pond. Man do I miss living out in the country.
