Confirmed from Nickel Plate Rail Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Nickel Plate Rail Trail
“Tree roots are bringing up the trail and it's getting a little bumpy this year but still beautiful.”
“I love walking here it's peaceful 😁”
Lovely wooded trail through the Indiana corn/soybean fields. Tree roots are bringing up the trail and it's getting a little bumpy this year but still beautiful. Probably need bigger than 23mm tires to take this on. Hope it gets paved again soon.
Wonderful 3/4 mile paved trail connecting the Offut's Park, Beeson Edition and Towne North neighborhoods. Walk, bike, skate, wheelchair. Provided by volunteer labor, private donations and support from the Fayette County Foundation.
Nice and quiet place to walk. Feels like you are in nature for the last 1/2 of the trail. Especially since you can go down to the stream at the end. I wish it was longer.
