Confirmed from Shrader-Weaver Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“A lovely spot for an easy walk in an old growth forest.”

Walked the woods trail through a springtime old growth forest. Undergrowth was popping with flowers and greenery. In just a few weeks the towering tree canopy will shade most of the forest floor. Beautiful large trees in their natural state in this never cut section of forest.

Very peaceful place for a relaxing hike. Lots of birds were singing and we loved the large trees. Trail was well marked and easy to follow.

★★★★★ — Kathi , Apr 2018

The new fence looks great! The trails have been mowed since the last time we were there and it really cut down on the horse flies. Overall, time spent was fantastic. Noone else was there the entire time. Very quiet and serene. I just wish I knew what the numbers on the trails are supposed to to represent.

★★★★★ — Julie , Jul 2020

Beautiful woods with a large carpet of Blue-eyed Mary when we hiked here last May. The hikes are easy and relatively short. There are historic buildings adjacent but they are on private property. The parking lot is somewhat small. No toilet facilities.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
