Confirmed from Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail
“Great scenic route for bicycling to Hopkins from Edina that avoids riding on busy roads.”
Great scenic route for bicycling to Hopkins from Edina that avoids riding on busy roads.
Great place to walk and bike. Trails are paved. There are some boarded bridges as well. The trail wasn't very busy when we were there. We parked at a nearby park and got on the trail there. There were restrooms at the park in the warming house. This trail was also dog friendly.
Amazing paved bike path primarily an old railroad track. Raised winding wooden bridges. Green. Easy access and parking.
Amazing hike in Bloomington! As of now, July 2026, one of the bridges are down leading to the watershed area for the Minnesota river. Come back this winter to traverse!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
