We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Noccalula Falls Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Noccalula Falls Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (20 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Great view one of my favorites”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Nice park quiet we came in winter the falls was'n full but still nice place at night have light walk on the park”

Nice park with trails to the suspension bridge and the waterfall (of course). Entrance fee ($8 for seniors) gets you everything but the putt putt. If you’re able, don’t just look at the falls from the top, go to the park store and get admittance to the trail - rocky but worth it!

★★★★★ — Miriam , Dec 2024

One of the best falls visited so far. The park is well maintained. Clean and calm. Kids love the place. The timing was appropriate to experience the good flow of water. The creek at the top was calm, but the falls gave a different experience. The hike to the falls was moderate and hard near the falls.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 8 mentions

“You park at the top of the falls so anyone can view, follow the trail to the campsite and after a mile there is a staircase so you can hike to the base.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
