Confirmed from North Beach Oceanside Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (4,811 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

“The beach itself is clean and the perfect place to simply relax.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Such a beautiful peaceful experience walking through the park, the banyan trees everywhere along the walkways — the lush greenness and ocean breeze is what we all need.”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“There is also direct access to the beach with lifeguards, restrooms, drinking fountains, and plenty of shaded benches.”

North Shore Open Space Park was originally established in the 1950s when the city purchased and demolished a series of dilapidated villas on the site. It is one of Miami's largest parks, and it runs from 78th Street to 87th Terrace. Over the years, the 28 acre site was left to nature.

This place is awesome. You can walk your dog through, it has a big no-leash place so your dog can run or play with toys. Also it has some structures for him to climb. It's very well maintained and it's very beautiful.

Steps away from the boardwalk and oceanfront. This is a clean and well shaded public park space. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches to use. Bathroom facilities with outdoor shower units. There's a kids' playground also.

I'm so glad we discovered North Beach Oceanside Park in Miami, FL! This beautiful beach is an oasis that's perfect for locals looking to escape the crowds of tourists. The beach itself is clean and the perfect place to simply relax. Plus, with lifeguards on duty, you can feel safe while enjoying the ocean.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 8 mentions

“The park offers many amenities: picnic areas with barbecues, a nice playground for children, perfect trails for walking or running, and even a dog park.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
