Confirmed from North Gorge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Trail system in a park and in the woods for casual and challenging hikes as well as mountain biking.
What runners say about North Gorge
Thanks to a small group of individuals, this trail system is still going. There's not many miles of trails here, but there's nothing like it in the Burlington area.
Nice place for a workout/hike or mountain biking. There were some trees down along the trails so please be careful if you're riding. My dog and I loved it. Definitely going back.
Unique hiking spot out by the Flint Hills Golf Course, just above Flint Creek.
I love exploring new to me nature spots. Today my son took me to North Gorge. There are multiple trails of various difficulty levels for hikers and mountain biking. We walked on the Current Loop Trail because it was labeled "easy". I have COPD and Fibromyalgia.

“Unique hiking spot out by the Flint Hills Golf Course, just above Flint Creek.”
“The Current Loop was a really nice hike, but as we got past where the bike trails ended on the Green Mile it became difficult to follow the trail.”

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
