Confirmed from North Mountain - Trail 44's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Rocky uphill area featuring a paved path up to a radio tower at the top.

This trailhead is located at the second parking structure, from the first main parking lot. If you’re walking up from the first main parking lot, it’s an incline walk and then to the right to find Trail 44. The first part of the trail is not paved, rocky, and a strenuous up hill hike.

Beautiful hike with a 360 degree view of the city at the top. If you’re a novice hiker, 80% of the hike from the parking lot is paved but steep! Whenever I bring someone for the first time they comment on how fast you come up on the incline. It’s mild cardio with a definite burn on the quads before you hit pavement.
