Confirmed from North Sterling State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Spacious reservoir offers a year-round campground, seasonal hunting, hiking trails & scenic bluffs.
What runners say about North Sterling State Park
“Well maintained, has swimming but a storm came through so we couldn't swim.”
“It is beautiful with Lots of wildlife as well as an incredible amount of space to explore.”
“Not much shade but it was clean and the sights were too close.”
“Very quiet park and we had a wonderful evening capped by an awesome sunset over the lake!”
Nice campground sites are kind of close together and not a lot of trees between sites. Sites are close to lake and made for a nice walk before dinner. Since it's off season only bathroom open is vault by the boat launch. There is a nice archery range didn't have a bow but it look like it would be fun.
Excellent campground! Love the paved loops, laundry facilities and shower house! We stayed at the Elks Loop at site 39 in April and it was so quiet. We will definitely recommend this to other fellow campers and stay here again when we can.
we had site number 42 by the reservoir. It was a beautiful sunset. I would stay there again. There is limited shade. The bathrooms were very well kept.
NICE lake, clean shores and the dock is great. Suggestion be strategic about timing at the dock mornings are busy if your practiced no problem if your not well its tough. ENJOY, the lake is pretty good sized....we run a 17' boat.
