Confirmed from Northmoreland Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Sprawling park for baseball and soccer games, alongside a lake (with paddle boats) and pavilions.
What runners say about Northmoreland Park
“Lots of friendly people walking their dogs, a playground, well kept (paved) walking trail along the water, and a venue that can be rented out.”
““Beautiful park with a nice loop trail around the lake, a little over a mile long.”
“The giant teepee and nature play is very calming l while the rest of the playground is great for all ages.”
A great place to visit near the communities of Apollo, Vandergrift, and Leechburg Pennsylvania. It's just 2 miles off PA State Route 356. Northmoreland Park is 548 acres in size and is the largest Westmoreland County park. Northmoreland Lake, constructed approximately 20 years ago, is a feature attraction.
One of our favorite parks to visit and take a walk through. The trail is nice and easy. There are lots of native plants to look at and talk about and the fishing isn’t too bad either. Nice to visit and just relax in. The play area is nice for kids and there are a couple areas for fathers and cookouts as well.
Beautiful park with a 1.1 mile brick trail that runs around the lake. Great place to go for a nice stroll!
The new playground is wonderful! Fun for all ages, honestly. Very unique to the area playground equipment. There's an area for smaller children to play, a playground designed for older children, and a natural playground (I don't care if you're an adult.
