pretty, flat, uneventful trail along the river, which is nice! the furnace trail is a slight elevation, and supposedly, the waterfall is on private land, which I didn't notice until my way back (because i turned before the waterfall trail and hiked up the creek) A not so exciting trail for avid hikers.
The Roaring Run Trail is a terrific recreational asset for the greater Apollo/Kiski area. It's a running, hiking and biking trail developed circa 1983. Initially it was only 1.5 miles in length, but through the years it has grown to 4.7 miles stretching from the trailhead terminus at the end of Canal St. in Kiski Twp.
Beautiful spring day. Love all the flowers, honeybees and butterflies. Water is lovely too. Well maintained trail with friendly people.
Awesome trails for all ages! Lots of parking in main lot or upper lot. The lower lot closes at dusk. Portable clean restroom is available at this trailhead. Launch spot for kayaks is accessible from lower lot. The main land trail is crushed rock and suitable for walking or an easy bike ride.
