Confirmed from Oak Grove Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This 65-acre outdoor activity place has a 1.5-mi. path around a lake, plus benches & a playground.
What runners say about Oak Grove Park
“Wide, well maintained walking path around the lake with areas to stop and rest if needed.”
“Some great views for sure, but the most stunning artwork God so kindly placed for us here is just off the beaten path… It warmed my heart to see that first aid station installed.”
“There's alot of treetop canopy for shade here during the warm months.”
“Lots of folks walking, a few running, dog walkers and families with small children, yet not crowded.”
“I was amazed walking this family friendly trail with multiple fitness stations.”
This has been my favorite park in Chesapeake thus far. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. The water when you first walk in is so pretty! It's quite tranquil, but very popular so you won't be the only one there.
I love this park. Great place for getting the family out. My little ones always enjoy running around, playing at the water, and just exploring. Evening walks are always peaceful. The trail around the lake is wide enough to accommodate those who are walking, those walking their pets, and bicyclists.
Oak Grove Lake Park is located in Chesapeake. Centrally located in the Greenbrier area off of Battlefield Boulevard. Great park for family and friends gatherings. It has a 1.5 mile trail around an amazing lake with panoramic views. I was amazed walking this family friendly trail with multiple fitness stations.
This is a beautiful park with an outstanding walking/jogging path. It is suited for the 4 legged friends with ample shade for paws. Decently clean playground. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because I do with they'd put stronger barriers or a wall beside the interstate that run along part of the trail.
