Confirmed from Oakbrook Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This 0.6-mile loop trail in a preserved forest area is paved with gravel & boardwalk.
What runners say about Oakbrook Nature Trail
“Usually has dog poop bags at the main entrance, no excuse to leave feces on the trail, didn't see any, very clean, lots of shade as well!”
“It's a quiet pretty trail good foot path.”
nice little trail. No one’s there, very quiet and peaceful. I and my husband liked there, but my dog didn’t walk much since it’s gravel.
It's very limited (unless I missed part of it). The place is mostly wood-lined gravel paths with bridges. It's great for a romantic walk, but not much fun for pups. I like any nature paths, especially ones with a garbage can. There is one can up front and some poop bags.
Well, they're doing some work on it. But interesting that a trail this size right off a residential area is kitted out with a lot of little markers where you can find access codes to information about the local ecology. We heard what sounded like a barred owl.
Very very nice trail, gravel path with old wood to make the path more of a proper trail. Usually has dog poop bags at the main entrance, no excuse to leave feces on the trail, didn't see any, very clean, lots of shade as well!
