Fairly flat and easy to navigate. A bit muddy in the winter. If you park in the neighborhood and walk into the refuge, you won’t get stuck when the gate closes at five. No dogs, it’s a wildlife refuge. It’s three dollars to park in the lot. The facilities are really nice.
One of the best hidden spots in Ridgefield for a quiet walk and resetting your mind. The Oaks to Wetlands Trail at Oaks to Wetland Trail is such a great mix of Pacific Northwest beauty, wildlife, wetlands, oak trees, and peaceful scenery.
It is refreshing to go to the refuge, walk over the bridge and stop to read the history of the area , . The sweet peas are blooming and everything is green and natural. No birds right now but no houses either. Only trees, water, and and nature. I forgot the trains that occasionally pass under the bridge.
