Confirmed from Okefenokee Swamp Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Daytime-only park with boat tours, canoes, trails, reptile shows & a 90-ft. observation tower.

“An interesting and engaging experience for all ages with several options for tours including boat, train, animal show and all three.”

This is probably as close as you can get to being in the swamp as you can get without making your own adventure! I highly recommend it! Four of us went on a guided boat tour, had a train tour, experienced a reptile encounter, and enjoyed walking around the park for about 5 hours today.

I love that they are conserving nature.Kids loved the train ride and seeing and touching the animals. If you have little ones that move alot; you might not want to do all three activities in one day (train boat and animal encounter). I opted out of the boat ride and it was just right for my 3 year old.

Went to the night of lights train ride. It was quite nice. There were several trips that the train took through the night. The lights were a combination of standard, projector lights, and changing display. The trails were lit as well as the gator enclosure. Also the display buildings and snack shack were also open.

★★★★★ — Leslie , Dec 2025

An interesting and engaging experience for all ages with several options for tours including boat, train, animal show and all three. The staff was very friendly and there were lots of animals to observe in the nature center and in the wild areas.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
