Confirmed from Old City Point Waterfront Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“Not a bad place to fish when not crowded”

This is such a peaceful, quiet park. I have rarely seen many people here. There's a decent parking lot, and some parking down the road a bit. Restrooms and a really nice little boardwalk. Some picnic areas, and quite a few people fishing. Today, though, I followed the trail around the point.

Beautiful park and area in general. Great to take family. The walk around does tend to get very muddy at spots. There is a picnic table that is covered, but could use more in the area. Plenty of logs to take a seat asking the path if that’s your jam.

I love visiting here! Great for pictures. Always people here taking photos for proms, yearbooks, weddings. Always people fishing, walking dogs, just hanging out and chatting. Again, we found it playing Pokemon Go...many stops and gyms if this is also your thing!

Old City Point Waterfront Park, not to be confused with City Point Park on your GPS is a beautiful spot for walking trails, looking at the view or fishing. It is very close to local attractions such as General Grant's Cabin at City Point and the Natural Playground.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says

  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
