Confirmed from Old Eastern Marsh Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Old Eastern Marsh Trail
Our intention was to bike from Amesbury, MA to the banks of the Merrimack River in Salisbury on the Old Eastern Marsh Trail, but due to time constraints, we parked behind Stop & Shop on Rt. 110 and headed W on the Amesbury River Walk. It was only a short distance over paved tar to the end. Pleasant and an easy grade.
I enjoy cycling on this trail frequently on weekends. I a fantastic paved trail great for cycling, walking, jogging, wildlife observing. One can take the Salisbury Point Ghost Trail that intersects this trail to go to Amesbury or continue on this trail all the way to Rt.
Beautiful flat paved trail with nice views of the marsh! Definitely bring bug spray!
This is a place for the casual walker, cyclist, person who enjoys fresh air. The trail is paved and well kept, but does tend to receive a lot of traffic on the nicer days.
