Confirmed from Old Loggers Path's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Definitely for all levels of backpacker with breathtaking views and lots of wildlife!”

Started in Masten and went clockwise over 3 days 2 nights. Night one camped by pleasant stream and night 2 camped along Rock run which was an amazing site. There had been a lot of rain and i got caught in a bad thunderstorm the first day and when i crossed pleasant stream the water was above my knees and flowing…

A truly WONDERFUL 28 mile loop trail, very well marked. Kudos for the trail maintenance in some of the areas of stinging nettles. The trail was widened (not in all areas, but some) with a mower or a trimmer so hikers didn't have to brush against the plants. There are many camp sites, most near a water source.

Incredible hiking trail *Note: parts of the trail near Pleasant Stream sustained damage during the floods on October 21, 2016. Proceed at your own risk.* *Another note: the trailhead on Google maps is currently inaccessible due to the flood damage, I recommend parking where the trail intersects with Yellow Dog Road.*

Definitely one of the best backpacking trips I've done in PA. It was so nice that it didn't cross any paved roads where you have to play Frogger with vehicles. There were no noisy ATVs digging up the woods. And the fact that it was a loop makes it very convenient.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
