Confirmed from Upper Rock Run Falls' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Upper Rock Run Falls
“Upper rock does not have a grill or picnic table however, it is a BEAUTIFUL place to visit.”
A little tricky to find but worth the effort, and the short walk/hike to the falls. Peaceful, secluded, great for a swim if you like COLD WATER! Also wonderful for waterfall photography. A beautiful place!
Great place has 3 different falls sections all of them are nice. Slippery when walking around on the rocks just be careful of your footings. Lots to explore in the area. Cell service can be spotty so act accordingly. Located right near old ghost coal town of McIntyre. One a kind area
Upper rock does not have a grill or picnic table however, it is a BEAUTIFUL place to visit. I've been going to rock run since I was a little kid. Now I take my children. Trout fishing is incredible there, and cliff jumping is a blast!!
To say this place is beautiful is an understatement!!! It was such a nice experience only thing that water is COLDDDD which is understandable I just preferably wouldn’t swim there unless it’s high 80s outside maybe a few cliff jumps but other than that just walking is super relaxing and nice.
