Confirmed from Old Shepard Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Green space featuring a playground & picnic pavilion, plus athletic fields & hiking/biking trails.
What runners say about Old Shepard Park
“Nice family-friendly park with big playground area, ball courts, and sidewalk trail around periphery of park.”
Nice family-friendly park with big playground area, ball courts, and sidewalk trail around periphery of park. Just a block away from White Creek Trail Park and can combine both trails for one longer walk.
Love the park and distances from roads. The pavilion is a quaint gazebo shape. Bathrooms are usually clean-ish but the water fountains mid park rarely work. The playground is nicely shaded and the park is directly adjacent to a school with some good play equipment (not fenced off though) but if you're around right…
This is a beautiful park and one of the best to walk or home in North Texas.
This place is huge. I don't know how many acres, but it would take a long time to walk from one end to the other. They added a world-class Sports facility around 2016 that is just amazing.
Trail conditions & character

“Lovely park with areas for baseball and soccer, but also a pavilion, playground with restrooms.”
“Bathrooms are usually clean-ish but the water fountains mid park rarely work.”
