We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Opal Hill Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Opal Hill Trailhead
Opal Hill was a great place to take my kids. If you take the long hike around the mountain, it's about a two hour hike around the mountain But we have found a different route that only takes about 15 minutes if you want to get up the hill, really quick and easy then, you can take the trail to the left Or you could…
Great experience. Looked for opals as I learned about them from the plaques asking the trail.
Horse trailer parking and restroom. Easy to difficult trails to hike. Loose dog's welcome, if they understand horses. If not keep them leashed for everyone's sake. Very little shade and no water
Opal hill trail is very muddy at this time of year. I enjoyed hiking at sunset.
