Confirmed from Optimist Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Optimist Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (507 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“I like going here to let my pup socialize, it's clean and so far everyone has been friendly.”

Located behind Big Lots Shopping Center in Milton,FL. Just off Hwy. 90 and minuets from downtown Milton and Blackwater River, close to Pace and Bagdad. My kids love this place. Plenty of places to play and climb. There is a large walking area good for skating. Lots of shades seating for parents.

★★★★★ — Jessica , Jan 2020

Nice, kind of hidden, little park with a walking track, dog park and children's play equipment. A hidden gem.

★★★★★ — Shannon , Mar 2021

Definitely serves it's purpose. Nicely laid out dog-freindly area and a great little spot for younger kids to play as well. It's great that they've started using the padded turf on play yards. There is a nice flat little walking track surrounding a field goal but nothing more in the area for physical activity.

★★★★☆ — Michael , Feb 2026

I like going here to let my pup socialize, it's clean and so far everyone has been friendly. Could use a couple more shaded benches.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 28 mentions

“Definitely a great place for a child's birthday party even has a dog park with obstacle courses for your doggies too.”
