Confirmed from Orcutt Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area offering picnic tables and a restroom, plus a dog park.
What runners say about Orcutt Trails
“The trails vary in difficulty but the elevation changes are great for trail running.”
Volunteered trail work. Building biking and hiking trails on the Pacific Coast Energy Company (PCEC) property. PCEC are supporters of Santa Maria Valley Open Space. The trail is currently a work in progress. Trail anticipated to be open by March 2023.
I really like hiking here. It’s also great for mountain biking. There’s dog parks here as well. The trails vary in difficulty but the elevation changes are great for trail running. Watch out for snakes though. Just back off and let them cross the trail if you see one, they leave people alone.
These trails are great for anyone wanting a casual walk or beginning mountain bikers. They are shorter, more crowded trails and the trail head is located near the park w/ all it's facilities. Pros: - Easy to walk/ bike - closer to restrooms and a water fountain - short Cons: - more crowded...
very nice trails and hills~ great doggo running . . and i only picked up 2.5 contractor bags worth of garbage, so overall somewhat better on the TrashHeap•Scale than the majority of what I've seen of Calî... but still, c'mon people... #bringabag !

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
