Confirmed from Outer Point Loop Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Forest, bog, tidepool, beach and island hiking area offering wildlife spotting and berry picking.
What runners say about Outer Point Loop Trail
“Beautiful trail through different levels of the rainforest.”
“Nice and easy walking trail, bit of snow and ice now, recommend some cleats”
Beautiful trail with lots of nature to enjoy. The trail winds through the woods, past a beaver damn (and the resulting pond), I to the muskeg and on to the beach that includes tidepools and views of the Mendenhall glacier and surrounding mountains. Truly a lovely walk!
This is a beautifully designed looping trail that crosses forest, bog, beach, and ocean! If you carefully check the tides, you will be able to safely cross the ocean hiking the tombolo over to Shaman Island: What a treat!
Beautiful quick hike. Highly recommended. Amazing shoreline views. Dog friendly. I would definitely suggest if you don't like to wash your pups don't bring them. A portion of the hike goes right through wetlands and only plank board to maneuver throughout.
This is a sweet little trail near the end of the current North Douglas highway. The trail is well marked and maintained BUT there are several other trails that intersect Outer Point, such as Rainforest and False Outer Point, so you aren’t always certain if you are technically on the OP trail.
