Confirmed from Owl Trail LCF's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Owl Trail LCF
“Very limited Street parking, but this is my favorite trail in the Flint Hills, a single track that follows a seasonal creek up an oak-shaded canyon.”
This trailhead gives you access to the infinite trails inside Cherry Canyon Park. You can make a short little hike out of the trail system, or you can hike 4 to 5 hours if you go all the way to the San Rafael Hills section of the park. Very in terrain, but all hilly.
Easy hike for family and pets. Part of it is under the shade of large trees along a small steam. Great view up top of La Crescenta and Glendale city.
Very limited Street parking, but this is my favorite trail in the Flint Hills, a single track that follows a seasonal creek up an oak-shaded canyon. The first quarter mile or so is pretty. After that, this connects to a bunch of fire roads (“motorways”) that have decent views of Glendale and the San Gabriels.
Short little trail you can follow all the way up to five points. You can either loop back down through the cherry canyon fire road or continue hiking the other trails from five points
