Confirmed from Pacolet River Heritage Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Peaceful park featuring a hiking trail and ruins.
What runners say about Pacolet River Heritage Preserve
“This is a beautiful home with a saw mill theme at the end of the road where the preserve starts.”
“My land borders this property, it's so peaceful and quiet.”
This was a peaceful trail down to the river. I went during the week, and nobody else was there at that time. The trail isn't hard to hike and you'll notice some unique formations on the ground along the way. The river was nice and you can get as close to it as you want towards the end of the trail.
It's a nice trail, but after hiking approx 3/4 mile down, a bridge had fallen trees on it and looked damaged.
Rich history here. Didn't feel up to walking the trail but I will next time. Read the info board in the parking lot before you go on the trail. Very interesting. I definitely recommend it! Went again and walked the trail. Took and hour to the river and back. It is a rough trail steep in one place. I enjoyed the walk.
Easy access, has some trail get narrower and gets steeper when you get closer to the river. It was 1.12 miles to the river and back. If you are looking for a secluded trail with less people this is it.
