Confirmed from Painter's Pond Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Small wooded park with ponds, ducks and artwork such as murals.
What runners say about Painter's Pond Park
“Awesome history of Deland and gorgeous murals by Courtney.”
A relatively quiet area just South of Stetson and just East of Main Street, Painter's Pond is a good place to see several types of birds and a nice place to walk around. Though it may want for size and amenities, it is a quaint slice of nature in an otherwise busy citysphere.
Small quiet park with almost a quarter mile loop around the pond. Neat mural, ducks, benches, dog station. Great place to walk the dog.
Great place for a nice walk and to eat lunch, if you don't mind ducks.
It's a nice place to walk the pug and check out the wildlife. Just be mindful of food and debris, keep Deland beautiful!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
