Confirmed from Palmer Road Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Palmer Road Preserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (9 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🪧 well-marked 3 mentions

“The trails are well-marked, and not a challenging hike - there are some hills to climb, but nothing crazy.”

Nice loop trail in a mostly maple and pine forest, with some steep sections.

★★★★★ — Andrew , Sep 2024

I went here twice with my dogs (July 2022). Both days were pretty hot, but the trail is entirely shaded and stayed pretty cool. Both times we went (about 2pm - 4pm on weekdays), it was just us. It was quiet and peaceful, and not a long trail (about 30-40 minutes).

★★★★☆ — Michael , Jul 2022

Two great trails through the woods, the red one goes down to a stream and the blue one loops down a hill and back up. The trails are well-marked, but there are a lot of downed trees across the trails. Also, keep your eyes open for roots. It's a little up and down, so make sure you're up for climbing hills.

★★★★☆ — Adam , May 2018

Nice trails through woodlands. It's a bit confusing without a map, but we followed the blue trail, which is a nice loop. The red trail seems to make an additional loop. Perfect for kids, walking a dog or a leisurely stroll.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“Also, just a note: there's no parking lot at the entrance; instead, you park on the street (entrance is near a circle at the end of a road).”
