Confirmed from Peanut Leap Cascade's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Moderately difficult park featuring hiking trails with stone steps and views from cliffs.
What runners say about Peanut Leap Cascade
“I started my hike at 9 am by enjoying the beautiful view from the Lookout.”
This was my first time going on this hike. As a solo female hiker it took me 2 hours and 50 minutes to scramble over the boulders known as the "Giant Stairs." I made sure to go slowly so as to not twist an ankle and I took lots of water breaks. I even took a lunch break and had a sandwich among the boulders.
Great trails to get you pumped to hike all the time. Peanut cascade trail takes you to the edge of cliffs, down steep rock "stairs" and over streams to the majestic falls. It puts you right onto the Hudson River. Worth the trip and great workout. Beginner friendly if your not afraid of heights and got ambition.
The trail to Peanut Cascade Falls is moderately challenging, making it suitable for both seasoned hikers and adventurous beginners. The path winds through lush forests, with occasional clearings that provide breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.
What can I tell you, the Palisades Interstate Park is located in NJ. The park is roughly twelve miles long and less than a mile wide. It runs along the Hudson River shorefront and is filled with uplands, cliffs, rocks and trees.
