Confirmed from Penn Hills Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“A beautiful secluded stretch of woods with Plum creek running thought around the edge.”

Great little park with some nice pavilions. We found a very nice little hiking trail along plum creek. Clean restrooms in the parking lot.

★★★★☆ — Dave , Oct 2022

Penn Hills Community Park is a great place to hang out with friends and family. It's a beautiful park with Plum Creek running through it. There's also good trails to do some hiking. There are 3 pavilions that can be rented out for parties and events.

★★★★★ — Robin , Jul 2018

This is a lovely, clean, family park. Lots of playground rides for the kids, and grassy areas to run around. There are three or four large picnic pavilions. But the part we liked the most was the long, beautiful creek bed to walk and play in.

★★★★★ — Alyson , May 2023

Took my daughter there and she had a blast. Access to the creek and a nice pooling area that was perfect to teach her how to skip rocks. The playground has an appa associated with it for scavenger hunts for the kids and uses AR to make it even more interactive.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
