Confirmed from Picchetti Ranch's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Picchetti Ranch Open Space Preserve is a wonderful Open Space Preserve to go for a hike in Cupertino. The trail starts at the Picchetti Winery, which is a fantastic place for wine tasting and to buy good quality wines. We usually take the Zinfandel Trail and loop back through the Orchard Loop Trail.

Quiet, shaded & peaceful preserve. The Zinfandel Trail begins at the parking lot at the Winery has gentle inclines with plenty of spring blooms & greenery. Soft dirt path that starts wide but narrows to single track. A 2-mile walk leads to the other end (near Steven's Canyon Rd), which also has a (small) parking lot.

We came here for a walk. It's a beautiful place. The Zinfandel trail is about 2 miles one way - it isn't a loop trail, however if you take it all the way to the end you reach the Cooley picnic area, with bathrooms and tables and a pretty babbling creek. On the walk back you get a fabulous view of the reservoir.

Found this place as a trail on alltrails app. Went on the zinfandel trail and it was one of the better trails i have been on. There is a wine tasting room, nice picnic area, sufficient parking, restroom close by and a great variety with fantastic views on the trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
