Confirmed from Piedmont Trail at Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular locale known for its scenic trails for hiking and walking.
What runners say about Piedmont Trail at Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway
“Absolutely beautiful trail and very scenic.”
“Nice, easy trail with not a lot of elevation changes.”
Did my long run- 5 miles out and back. Parked at the top of the trail just off of Summerfield Rd. There is a small gravel lot on the right as soon as you turn off of Battlefield Ave onto Summerfield. Plenty of room for multiple cars the only potential negative is you have to cross Summerfield Rd to get to the trail.
Nice, easy trail with not a lot of elevation changes. You can make it a loop by walking to the marina and taking Nat Greene trail back. Easiest to park at Bur-Mill park.
Love everything about this trail. Completely paved, wide enough to accommodate walkers and bikers moving both directions, and mostly shaded. Endless in that it runs from Strawberry Road and south through Bur-Mil Park, through Guilford Courthouse National Park, and to Greensboro Country Park.
You can walk on this trail forever . . . it seems to never end! You can easily make a 3 hour+ walk on this trail. Also saw an owl in the daytime, never seen that before 🦉. Deer are common, as are turtles, woodpeckers, and cranes . . . so much wildlife! Definitely not a boring place to exercise.

“From there did Big Loop for a few miles and then back on the main AY Greenway through Bur Mil, a part of Owl’s Roost Trail (watch for bikes), then to Lake Brandt apartments.”
“There are no RR or water fountains that I saw on my run but this trail is pretty long so there may be at some point.”
