Confirmed from Pigeon Roost Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Pigeon Roost Trailhead
“Aside from the lake access, there are not a tremendous amount of scenic sites on the trail, but enough features to keep it interesting.”
“Trailhead is clearly marked and cleaned out after the tornadoes.”
A winter Wonderland in the snowstorm. Not a soul on the trail except us. The trail is easy even in the heavy snow. Beaver Lake is so truanqulizing and peaceful. Listening to the snowflakes falling on our backpack, feeling them melting on my eyelashes, in my mouth was such a comfort.
Great trail! Restroom at the trailhead. We did the 4 mile Pigeon Roost Loop and it was the perfect length.
Good trail with a nice payoff as it passes by the Pigeon Roost arm of Beaver Lake. I only covered the Dry Creek Loop. Aside from the lake access, there are not a tremendous amount of scenic sites on the trail, but enough features to keep it interesting.
The trails are narrow, so expect to hike in a line. Plenty of shade, and from the looks of it not so many people go. The lake is relatively clean, and I saw small fishes. Once you get to the first bench area... Umm you should see a spot that is an open space to go in the water without totally jumping in.
