Confirmed from Pole Hill's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Pole Hill
This is the reservation closest to home, maintained by AVIS, I am there all the time. It is small but has nice diversity of trails - you need to venture out of the main loop trail. I love the huge grove of white pines coming down of the red trail toward the water. The river is really peaceful.
Never crowded - great hike. Picnic area, different wooded areas. Fantastic little known place.
Andover Conservation Commission oversees this historic spot. Picturesque stone arch bridge, lots of space for kids to run. Great for train spotting. Local scout troop worked hard to open up trail network after a microburst felled many trees a couple years ago.
Wonderful nature preserve with trails for hiking. There are quite a few trees down presently, but this didn't affect my walking on the trails too much. I appreciate that this nature preserve is still maintained for people to enjoy.
