Confirmed from Pout Pond's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Pout Pond

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (146 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 7 mentions

“Clean sand, restrooms really close by and there's picnic tables as well as chairs to put in the sand provided by the beach.”

Pout pond is a small pond. Provides a even smaller (beach) for kids to go in water. You got a family picnic area, swings and good number of chairs and benches facing the pond. In addition to that it has got two trails - blue and red will take 15 minutes to complete one loop of pond.

Great local beach that feels like a hidden gem every time I go. Cost $3 per person, under 2 is free (cash only). Out of towner's are welcome. Lots of parking in close proximity to the beach so no long walks. There are swings, picnic tables, restrooms, fishing and hiking trails that go around the entire pond.

This is a good local pond and set of running trails. I appreciate the rustic feel of the trails, which keeps away some but unfortunately not all of the dog walkers. I've never seen a map of the trails, but the area is small enough that hikers and runners won't get horribly lost.

Great place to take the kids swimming. Kind of small but well maintained beach, with bathrooms. They usually charge a nominal fee. There are hiking trails that go around the pond and back towards the Blackstone River. There’s pretty good fishing, but it’s better to do it in a canoe or kayak.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
