Confirmed from Powell Butte Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Powell Butte Trailhead
“Other than the pile of dog shit at the trailhead, it was a beautiful walk.”
I made it to the top first try! I'm 69 and getting more active. The level trail works for my wife. Good for repeat visits.
So much storm damage in the lower section of the park . The paths are all open and have been cleared
Great trails, some uphill climbs, but very pretty area. Lots of moss on trees and ferns everywhere.
Portland has a lot of natural treasures and this one is pretty well placed in the dirty chaos of outer Powell. I've only been three times and apparently it gets pretty darn busy when the weather is nice on the weekends.
Trail conditions & character

“But I think the better entrances aren't the main site on the top of the hill but down in the neighborhoods on the west and south side with access to the wooded trails.”
“It's nice up top with that fantastic view of Mount Hood but when I just want to go on hike I really want to be in the trees.”
“Other than the pile of dog shit at the trailhead, it was a beautiful walk.”
