Confirmed from Prairie Creek Greenway Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring 4.3 mi. of paved trails with hills through neighborhoods and green spaces.
What runners say about Prairie Creek Greenway Trailhead
“The trail itself is well maintained, but it would be nice if it could be a loop.”
“Beautiful waterfall, creek and prairie.”
“great place for a run or walk, after about a mile you end up walking in a neighborhood, but the trail is ways away from the homes.”
Great paved trail (approx. 4.25 miles) through wooded areas, along small streams and partially next to a main road. Very nice!
The trail itself is well maintained, but it would be nice if it could be a loop. Also, one branch dead ends in someone’s yard who is not very happy when biker’s enter his property. It is a very hilly route - great exercise if that is what you want.
Our family did a Easter Running with My Peeps Virtual 5K fun run/walk on the trail today. We ❤️ our trails. It would be awesome if our park system would host holiday fun run/walks
Really nice trail, paved and wide. Beautiful waterfall, creek and prairie.
Trail conditions & character
“Nice and flat paved walkway or some hills if you want a slight challenge.”
“However, the treeline, prairie, and natural hills obscure signs of residential.”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
