Confirmed from Prescott Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Prescott Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (543 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“While the road may not be well-maintained at the moment, just driving to the top can be part of the enjoyment.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“If you want a great view of the Rogue Valley with beautiful sunset panorama or need a brief escape and chance to get perspective, this may be the spot.”

It was very puppy friendly! Everyone was super nice, caring, and understanding. The place was kept all nice and clean, so I didn't have to worry about my lil mutt getting into anything. Absolutely beautiful views all around. And it's not too difficult to walk up!

Hiked to the top and experienced one of the finest views of the Medford Valley you can get. They recently changed the park closure time to 9pm so we were able to watch the sunset and get some amazing pictures of the city down below. Not a ton of people, but it was a Monday.

A very curvy drive but it leads to spectacular views of the Rogue Valley. Nice parking lot at the top. Be advised that there are some minor rough spots on the road to the overlook. Easy drive up. The road and overlook close at 9PM. There are 2 gates on the road to the top. It's definitely worth the effort!

What a pleasant surprise we explored Prescott Park for the first time. We parked in the first parking lot, and walked up the road to the second where we found an asphalt path. We followed till it ended following down back to the roadway exactly where we parked our car. Perfect little hike for us.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 24 mentions

“During most of the day you can see the entirety of the valley floor, but if you go early enough on a foggy morning you can get can a special view for a little while.”
