Confirmed from Preston Valley Trail Head, Green Canyon's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Preston Valley Trail Head, Green Canyon
“Great views and interesting things.”
Beautiful scenery. Fresh air, and the ability to hike, bike, ride and have fun!
Brought Max up here for a walk. I love getting out of the valley quickly and enjoying the outdoors. Today was a little gloomy but calm and still. I've included a pic of a sign I kept seeing on the trail. Please be respectful and responsible when using the trails.
Was in town and went biking with some family and friends. Rented a bike from Utah state. Was a good deal. Great trail. Not too bad of a climb. Lots of fun coming down. Beautiful.
It reqires driving on a gravel road to get there and it can be rocking in sections. The trailhead parking area is small, but it's usually empty when I've been their to hike. A mostly shaded hike with lots of wildflowers in the early Summer. Wear insect repellent and sunblock.
Trail conditions & character
“Great hike to the ridge with a lovely view of Logan Canyon!”
“While we did not make it to the top, there approximately 100’ of elevation gain for every 10th of a mile, so it is challenging.”
“2nd gate opens the 1st of June, but we did make it to the trailhead, the trail along the road to get there is very nice.”
