Confirmed from Prince Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Community park covering 22+ acres, with lit sports fields, a snack bar & an area for dogs.
What runners say about Prince Park
“Prince Park is a large, well-kept grassy area which holds several Petaluma sports venues, both practice and game fields.”
“Humongous, green grass field with baseball fields, there is a huge, super old oak tree with lots of shade.”
Amazing park! Really big and spacious area that allows for dogs off leash most months of the year and most times of the day during those months (see attached photo). New to the area and I can say with the utmost confidence my dog DJ and I will be here every Friday moving forward! Especially from September - May.
Baseball and green grassy field to play sports or just hang out. Plenty of parking spots and restrooms. There's an area by entrance where you can ride bicycles, rc cars 4x4 over mounds and jumps. Chill spot to bring the kids during day. Bike path runs right around the park.
Full of soccer and baseball games today. Lots of green grass to run. Restrooms near the center. Trees for shade on the margins. Very nice.
Played a couple softball games. The park is nice. Decent bathroom facilities. The only downside is the outfield is uneven and players need to be careful when running and fielding.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
